How this journal treats what you put in it.

What we keep

If you sign in, TeeTrail stores your name, email, a public handle, optional city and one-liner, rounds, ratings, reviews, scores, wishlist, who you follow, and cheers on activity. We keep a hashed password, never the password itself. You confirm the email before the bag is fully open.

The course atlas itself — names, places, and community star averages — is public. You can browse it without an account.

Your bag is visible

This is a social journal, not a private scorecard. Anyone with an account can search for you and open your rounds, reviews, scores, and wishlist. Do not log a round you would not show another golfer.

Location

Discover can use your phone’s location to sort nearby courses. That stays on the device for the request; we do not store a live GPS trail. Until you allow it, nearby starts from Mission, British Columbia.

Other people’s data

Course locations include OpenStreetMap and OpenGolfAPI data (ODbL). Public star numbers labelled Google come from public Maps listings and can be incomplete. Photos are style images, not pictures of every hole.

Delete it

On Bag, signed-in golfers can delete the account. That removes your profile, rounds, wishlist, follows, and sign-in from TeeTrail. Community averages on courses you rated are then recalculated without you.
